Today as I took advantage of a day off, I realized it is so easy to get wrapped up in work and forget to sit back, laugh and live to the fullest. So as the summer quickly approaches, I make a vow to stop, play on the slip and slide with my children more and never, ever be afraid to get a little dirty while making memories!
Photo Tip of the Weekend:
How did I get this picture? IF you do not know my 2 and 4 year old, then you would think they are just cute loving brother and sisters...right? You might be able to get pictures that way but I always say give your sibling a "bear hug" and a "tickle monster" when I want them to pose. NEVER, ever say those horrible words like "say cheese" or "smile please".
Also because it is super sunny here in Texas, I always put up my pop up umbrella off to the side of where we are going to "play"....yes it is all about thinking 2 steps ahead of toddlers!

Out of necessity-Homemade Detergent
I never thought I would do this. Yet because of 2 munchkins in our home with crazy allergies, I finally broke down and made my own detergent. Reality is that it not very hard at all!
You need:
1 bar of soap (I used Fels Naptha)
1 cup of Borax
1 cup of Super Washing Soda
1. Grate the bar of soap. Yes the whole thing. This was the most tedious party.
2. Then add the borax and super washing soda.
3. Then stir for 5 minutes.
4. Store in something with a tight lid like a mason jar.
5. Just add 1 TSP to each load of wash. I add 2 TSP when doing an heavy load!
Yes this is safe for HE washers too.
Crazy how my Friday nights have changed!

The Curry Family
Sometimes in life, you are blessed to cross people's lives twice. This family holds a special place in my heart even if it has been years since I have seen Alicia. I have know Alicia's family long before I could imagine that her entire family would still be intertwined in my life today. Yes my heart is always warmed when I see her dad and mom in town or at a school event and get a big, feel down to your core hug.
During Christmas break, Alicia shared her amazing, beautiful two girls and bundle of joy son with me on a not so pretty day. But I would not of changed any part of it. I had a blast and can't wait to capture this family again!
Alicia is still gorgeous and has eyes that speak to your soul just like in high school. Her husband also was so kind and patient. I wonder if he gives lessons? Her children-let's just say, I want to send my kids to the Curry House to get lessons. These two little ladies have a beautiful, independent yet loving spirit and so very respectful. And don't forget the little man, when I did get him to laugh, it was straight from the belly!
Thanks for sharing what Family should look like! Enjoy the images and please like C Star Photos on Facebook and if interested in a session, contact me at 832-492-7024
